Oregon State is part of the Pacific Northwest region in the Wester U.S. It's interesting to note that the state's government seat has been moved thrice—from Oregon City, then to Salem, next to Corvallis, and then back to Salem. The Columbia River—the largest river in this region, delineates most of the state's northern boundary with the state of Washington. Oregon residents are privileged to be part of the Western Undergraduate Exchange. With this, they can attend to 14 neighboring states' select colleges. Oregon is Rich in History!
In 1859, Oregon was granted statehood. Being the 33rd state in the US, the state's population grew by 10.7% in the last 10 years, with over 4 million in 2020. Early in 1830, many groups traveled the famous Oregon Trail to settle in the state. During this time, the US started a joint settlement with the UK. Cartographers mapped the state of Oregon after the Lewis and Clark expedition, following the French and Spanish exploration. The exploration started in the 17th century until the 18th. Portland, the largest city in Oregon, has high quality of life and is one of the top cities in the US. Also, it is home to more than 300 wineries and is considered one of the top wine producers in the country. Source
